Vilnius is a success story being written for more than 700 years. It is a growing, dynamic, modern European metropolis where the most ambitious projects are implemented. By working at the Vilnius City Municipality, you can touch them and see from the inside how the smooth mechanism of a city of hundreds of thousands works. How do interns contribute to the creation of the city?

Toma Vilkaitė, intern in the Environmental Protection Programs and Greenery Management Subsection:

"I directly contribute to making important environmental information more conveniently accessible to Vilnius residents: I prepare proposals on how to make two websites more user-friendly. I also systematize data on felling and maintenance works, analyze environmental education projects, and detailed plans for noise and air pollution."

Andrius Trimakas, intern in the Cultural Heritage Protection Division:

"During the internship, I have the opportunity to see what the municipality's operating principle is; every day I learn more and more information about cultural heritage protection and its subtleties. I had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the Vilnius Old Town management plan but also to prepare a theoretical model for managing mass tourist flows."

Skaistė Sliževskytė, intern in the General Education Division:

"I participate in preparing methodological and informational material, help manage documents, and get involved in the daily processes of the division – this way I contribute to the smooth education of children in Vilnius. This experience allows for a better understanding of how the education system and public sector work practically function."

More than 30 divisions. That is how many internship direction choices await at the Vilnius City Municipality. Every year, about 50 students perform an internship here, and last year alone, 5 interns continued their career path here.
